EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This report provides an update to the Henderson Community Board on recent consultation undertaken with Te Atatu Peninsula (TAP) community. This report is intended as an information update and no decisions on particular design concepts are sought. By providing this early update, Councillors and Community Board Members will be better informed of community expectations.
The consultation took place during the week of 14 July 2008 with a display in the library, a public meeting and a drop-in morning. The consultation sought feedback from the TAP community on two main issues.
Firstly, how the town centre could develop and whether the draft Town Centre Concept Plan satisfactorily addresses all the issues raised. Secondly, which of the five options for the redevelopment of the Community Centre and Library best delivers the communities aspirations? It is intended that a further report on the redevelopment of the Community Centre and Library. This will bring together the technical analysis of the options (Quadruple Bottom Line), the community consultation and the budget implications and seek a resolution on which of the five options to progress.
An update on the Town Centre Concept Plan will be brought back to the Henderson Community Board in the next few months.
