This area at the rear of 564-568 Te Atatu Rd, has now been upgraded by the Business Association, with agreement of the landlords involved. Our thanks to Don Reyland Cartage Contractor for the truck work, and to Kevin Palmer for the digger. Left: Don Reyland, Cartage Contractor, 2a Tawa Rd. Security Cameras: The Business Association has a project to erect security cameras at the rear of the shopping centre buildings, as a safety support for staff, and to help prevent tagging and rubbish dumping. Graffiti Paint-Out Project: With Council support, manpower from Corrections have assisted with the painting out of tagging in the town centre, especially at the rear of buildings which are not covered by the Tag Out Trust contract. The first two areas dealt with are the rear of 576 Te Atatu Rd, and then the rear of 566 Te Atatu Rd. Right the building before the paintout. Below the finished job. Rubbish Removal Project: Two truck loads and three trailer loads of rubbish, a lot of it from residential dumping have been removed from the areas where trhe paint-outs have taken place. This has been funded by the Business Association, as part of a commitment to make the Town Centre clean, safe and an attractive place to work and shop. With the security cameras the dumping of domestic rubbish will also be monitored and offenders will be prosecuted. |
