Business AssociationThe Te Atatu Peninsula Business Association Inc, is an incorporated society, representing all the town centre business operators, and also many of the businesses throughout the wider peninsula, as associate members.
A symbol of the BID, are the new flags flying throughout the town centre. ProjectsOne of the significant projects for 2012 is the Harbourview Sculpture Trail which will open at the beginning of March. This will be sited on the Danica Pond at the Gloria Ave end of the Harbourview Walkway, and will be available through the month of March. It will feature an amazing range of great sculptures from many West and other Auckland artists. The Curator is Sally Lush, who has great experience with similar projects including the Kaipara Gardens Sculpture Trail. If you would like to contribute a sculpture, or assist as a volunteer please contact Sally on email:harbourviewscultures@clear.net.nz
Adopt a SpotThe City Council with support from the Ministry of Justice has a strong programme in place to reduce and remove graffiti and tagging throughout the city. One of the key elements of the programme is "Adopt a Spot" where businesses, residents and schools etc take responsibility for removing all tagging from a delegated area. We are working to achieving NO TAGGING in the Town Centre (as a first stage goal). All existing tagging will be removed in the next few weeks and then we are encouraging all businesses to "Adopt their Spot", their yard and shop front etc, and ensure all tagging is immediately removed. Paint is supplied and available by contacting the Town Centre Manager. |
